About SM Wagner Author

SM Wagner writes fiction about real women who have been underestimated — by the world, by the people around them, and sometimes by themselves. Her characters aren't twenty-two and discovering life for the first time. They're women with laugh lines and battle scars, expired coupons at the bottom of their purses, and the quiet, stubborn suspicion that maybe — just maybe — the best part of their life hasn't happened yet.

SM writes from her home on the beautiful Canadian prairies, where the winters are long, the skies are endless, and her to-do list includes approximately forty things she probably won't get done today. Because, let's face it, dreaming up stories is her number one priority.

When SM is not at her desk, she can be found in her favorite reading chair conducting research (which is a polished way of saying she'll read anything she can get her hands on, at any hour, for any reason, and call it work). Flower shopping in the spring is a non-negotiable ritual, and planting said flowers falls under her jurisdiction, but everything else — weeding, grocery shopping, cooking, housework, laundry — is a shared duty as stated in the household contract.

SM believes that women's stories deserve to be told with honesty, humor, and heart. That starting over isn't the same as starting from scratch. And that a good book should keep you up past your bedtime — preferably while the laundry sits in the dryer, completely forgotten.

If that sounds like your kind of evening, you're in the right place.
